Krank Press Workshop at Feliz

My friend Elinor of Krank Press will be teaching a workshop at Feliz next month, and it sounds like it’s going to be awesome! She’ll be teaching attendees how to use hand-carved stamps to make beautiful wrapping paper. This workshop is perfect for the upcoming holiday season, and the class is basically an introduction to relief printing in general (something I talk about a bit here on the blog!) If you live in Austin, and you’re at all interested in learning basic printmaking techniques, I’d highly recommend Elinor’s workshop!

A description of the class, in Elinor’s words:

Hand-carved stamps are a quick & satisfying way to do relief printing without a press. Each student will get a printing kit with printing blocks, knives, stamp pad & assorted fabrics & papers to print on; we’ll learn how to carve the stamps & then use them to make wrapping paper & gift tags. I’ll provide you with ideas & inspiration on how to create big patterns from small images. Two sessions will be offered.

Sounds awesome, right? You can sign up for the class here, and if you can’t make it to the class, I hope you’ll stop by the Feliz Holiday Sale the next day and say hello to Elinor and me!
